Driver Awareness Scheme WEBINAR (DASW) course terms and conditions
These are the Terms and Conditions under which the Driver Awareness Scheme Webinar (DASW) operates, please ensure that you read these prior to accepting the offer of the DASW course.
By accepting the offer of a DASW course it is understood that individuals have agreed to accept these Terms and Conditions and agree to their data being held for 3 years in order to perform eligibility checks for future offences.
Individuals who fail to comply with the Terms and Conditions will have their offence referred back to the Fixed Penalty or Prosecution process depending on eligibility criteria.
The attendance on the webinar is for use by the participant only and registration information should not be forwarded on to third parties; doing so may hinder access, as webinar entry is by prior registration only. Similarly, the materials are for use by the participant only and should not be forwarded on to third parties.
ID checks will/can be conducted at any time during the course, any person without the correct ID will be removed from the course and referred to the Criminal Justice System where they could be charged with perverting the course of justice by impersonating another person.
The confidentiality and security of webinar registration information and event materials issued by Dorset Police is the responsibility of the participant. If you believe that a third party has obtained details in an unauthorised manner, please promptly notify the Driver Awareness Scheme office on 01202 227670.
The virtual event facility includes a feature that allows audio and any documents and other materials exchanged or viewed during the session to be recorded. By joining a session, you automatically consent to such recordings. If you do not consent to the recording, please contact the DAS office between the hours of 08.30 and 14.00 Monday to Friday to discuss your concerns in good time prior to the webinar date.
Webinar participation may require you to configure your software settings on your device upon first use, or require you to download the software for your operating system. Software can be manually downloaded by visiting the GoToTraining download Centre. Please note that you may require administrator privileges on your computer to be able to manually install software.
Cancellations must be received by email or telephone at least 48 hours before the date of the event in order to change the date of the webinar. Please note that if someone attends in lieu of yourself, you will immediately go back into the Criminal Justice System for consideration of prosecution.
In connection with the operation of the webinar we will ask you to provide us with information that personally identifies you or allows us to contact you ("Personal Information") when you register for the use of the service. The Personal Information that you provide us with in these circumstances will be provided to audio- and web-conferencing services to assist in processing the information, for the sole purpose of enabling them to operate and deliver the webinar service. This information will not be disclosed or shared with others and restricted to providing the contracted services of the webinar.
Dorset Police understand users' need for privacy when using the web for communications and the utmost care in providing the highest levels of security possible. The Personal Information that Dorset Police collect from webinar registrants is stored in operating environments that employ reasonable security measures and that are not available to the general public. Dorset Police and the provider of the audio- and web-conferencing services are not responsible for unauthorised access to such information by hackers or others that obtain access through illegal measures.
To successfully complete the course all participants must:
Complete the mandatory pre-course workbook (approximately 60 mins) prior to the webinar start time, as this will form part of the Webinar and reference will be made to it during the course.
Please ensure that you have downloaded the GoToTraining application and are ready to start the course 20 minutes before the event. If you arrive after the course start time you will be dismissed from the course.
To gain access to the course participants MUST;
- Have photographic ID available should you be requested to show it.
- Engage in all modules
- Fully participate in all polls and set quizzes
- Be focussed and prepared to answer questions
Standards of behaviour
- Attendees should conduct themselves in a respectful manner to the course trainers and others attending the course.
- Disruptive behaviour, intoxication, wilful non-compliance or wilful misbehaviour whilst on a course is unacceptable.
- Using a mobile phone or similar device is prohibited throughout the course as this can cause disruption and is a distraction in a learning environment. As mobile technology can be used for recording and photography there is also a Safeguarding and Data Protection issue.
- Course attendees should not wear clothing which is likely to cause embarrassment or offence to others delivering or attending a course.
Dorset Police reserve the right to refuse access or expel anyone for not complying with this guidance.
Anyone in breach of the Terms and Conditions will be referred back to the Central Ticket Office for processing.
Confidentiality will be maintained at all times unless we believe an offence is disclosed.
